Construction began in February on a $14 million expansion project at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention laboratories in Fort Collins, Colo.
The project will include biosafety level 2 and 3 laboratories, according to JE Dunn Construction, which is converting empty space in the CDC's existing facility into high-level biocontainment laboratories and offices.
The CDC conducts vectorborne disease research at the Fort Collins facility.
The project is scheduled for completion in January 2010.
