AVMA directory to go entirely electronic

Posted De. 15, 2008

The Executive Board approved a recommendation eliminating the 2010 print and CD-ROM versions of the AVMA Directory & Resource Manual—a move expected to save the Association several hundreds of thousands of dollars in production costs.

Information in the directory is currently available on the AVMA Web site, noted the Budget and Financial Review Committee, which proposed the change. The online version can quickly be updated and is easily searchable by AVMA members; it also contains more comprehensive member information than what is included in the printed directory, the committee noted.

More than 68,000 hard copies of the 2008-2009 directory were produced along with 16,774 of the CD-ROM format. Total costs for composition, production, and distribution were $412,571.95.
