Extending the vice president's term of office
|Posted Dec. 1, 2008|
An AVMA Bylaws amendment is on the way to the House of Delegates that would double the vice president's term to two years.
The Executive Board approved a recommendation from the Governance Performance Review Committee to initiate the bylaws amendment, which would provide for a single two-year term.
The GPRC believes this change could increase the vice president's efficiency and productivity while reducing the expense associated with campaigning for re-election.
The House Advisory Committee also supports this amendment. Here is text of the amendment.
