The U.S. Department of Agriculture has downgraded New Mexico's bovine tuberculosis status.

New Mexico has two zones for TB status classification. The USDA recently changed the status of one zone from accredited free to modified accredited advanced after officials diagnosed tuberculosis in two cattle herds inside the zone during a two-year period. The status of the other zone was already modified accredited advanced.
