The Food and Drug Administration's Center for Veterinary Medicine has appointed Dr. Margaret Oeller (VMR '89) as director of the Office of Minor Use and Minor Species Animal Drug Development, effective July 6. She had been acting director since Dr. Bernadette Dunham left the MUMS office to become CVM director.

Dr. Oeller joined the CVM in 1993 as a reviewer in the Office of New Animal Drug Evaluation, Division of Therapeutic Drugs for Food Animals. Since 1998, she has worked as an expert regulatory review scientist on minor-use and minor-species issues. She moved to the MUMS office following its establishment several years ago.

Practice

The Montana VMA recognized new honor roll members and installed officials at its June 22-24 meeting.

The new honor roll members are Drs. Eugene S. Aby, (COL '50) of Glendive, H.A. Brosz (WSU '51) of Helena, Kenneth Burritt (COL '51) of Butte, H.C. Goodell (COL '51) of Great Falls, R.W. Gustafson (COL '51) of Choteau, R.C. LaFrance (ISU '51) of Hardin, Hugh Leslie (COL '54) of Ennis, Robert C. Lott (WSU '54) of Twin Bridges, Earl Pruyn (WSU '49) of Missoula (died June 11), and D.K. Shaffner (WSU '49) of Dillon.

The new officials are Drs. Sherrie Nash (KSU '90), Harlowton, president; Paul McCann (COL '92), Havre, president-elect; Randy Ward (KSU '91), Broadus, vice president; Lisa Ritchey (ORS '95), Havre, secretary-treasurer; Duane Colmey (COL '87), Livingston, immediate past president.
