Gabriel Belinsky

Dr. Belinsky (MID ’44), 86, Stoughton, Mass., died May 15, 2007. He owned Belvedere Veterinary Hospital in Lowell, Mass., until 1986. Dr. Belinsky was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Ruth, and three daughters survive him. Dr. Belinsky’s brother and nephew, Drs. Joseph Belinsky (TEX ’40) and Peter Belinsky (UP ’70), are veterinarians in Rhode Island. David B. Bender

Dr. Bender (MSU ’42), 91, Avon, Conn., died May 15, 2007. During his career, he practiced in Windsor, Conn. Dr. Bender is survived by a son; daughter; and a stepdaughter.

Boyden K. Brown

Dr. Brown (MSU ’51), 86, Rocky River, Ohio, died Jan. 30, 2007.

Michael J. Clark

Dr. Clark (CAL ’71), 61, Lemon Grove, Calif., died Jan. 19, 2007. He owned the San Diego Pet Hospital in Lemon Grove.

Ryland Croshaw

Dr. Croshaw (UP ’39), 90, Medford, N.J., died Jan. 15, 2007. Prior to retirement in 1968, he owned a dairy practice in Columbus, N.J. Early in his career, Dr. Croshaw worked for the New Jersey Artificial Breeding Association. He served in the Army Veterinary Corps during World War II in the China-Burma-India theater. Dr. Croshaw attained the rank of captain. His son survives him.

Bernard J. Curran

Dr. Curran (ISU ’74), 58, Eldridge, Iowa, died June 18, 2007. He was a partner at Scott County Animal Hospital, a practice he co-founded in 1976 with his brother, Dr. John M. Curran (ISU ’71), in Eldridge. Earlier in his career, Dr. Curran practiced at Whitehaven Animal Hospital in Davenport, Iowa.

Known for his expertise in swine medicine, he served as president of what is now the American Association of Swine Veterinarians in 1986 and was made an honorary master pork producer in 1989 by the Iowa State Pork Producers Association. Dr. Curran served on the swine committee of the Iowa VMA and as the AASV representative to the American Feed Industry Association. He also served on the Iowa Pseudorabies Virus Committee and on the Food and Drug Administration’s Veterinary Medicine Advisory Committee for three years.

In 1999, Dr. Curran was the recipient of the AASV Meritorious Service Award. He received the AASV Swine Practitioner of the Year Award in 2007. Dr. Curran’s wife, Mary Ann, and three sons survive him. Memorials may be made to the AASV Foundation, 902 1st Ave., Perry, IA 50220; or Gilda’s Club at the Quad Cities, 1234 E. Harold C. Fritz

Dr. Fritz (MSU ’71), 58, Long Valley, N.J., died Jan. 25, 2007. A small animal practitioner, he owned Long Valley Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Fritz was a member of the New Jersey and Metropolitan New Jersey VMAs. His wife, Anne, survives him.

Paul J. Geuther

Dr. Geuther (ISU ’59), 72, Mesa, Ariz., died June 24, 2007. From 1983 until retirement in 1999, he practiced large animal medicine in Slayton, Minn. Following graduation, Dr. Geuther practiced in Iowa at Primghar and Hartley, in partnership with his father-in-law, Dr. E. Sundquist (now deceased). He then moved to Sutherland, Iowa, where he served as veterinarian and manager of Group 21 Feed Yard. Dr. Geuther next managed Castor Feed Yard in Farwell, Texas. His wife, Jo Ann; three sons; and a daughter survive him. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Murray County, Slayton, MN 56172.

M. Keith Kingsley

Dr. Kingsley (KSU ’68), 70, Hays, Kan., died July 19, 2007. He owned Kingsley Veterinary Clinic in Hays for 30 years. Early in his career, Dr. Kingsley practiced in Phillipsburg, Kan. He was a member of the Kansas VMA. Active in civic life, Dr. Kingsley served as county commissioner for four years and was a past member of the Ellis County Planning Commission. His wife, Mavis; two sons; and a daughter survive him. Bill H. Kinsey Sr.

Dr. Kinsey (AUB ’41), 92, Washington, N.C., died Feb. 23, 2007. Prior to retirement in 1982, he owned Kinsey Veterinary Hospital in Washington. Dr. Kinsey was a member and past president of the North Carolina VMA. He served as a captain in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Dr. Kinsey is survived by a son and a daughter.

Morris A. Nossov

Dr. Nossov (KSU ’39), 89, Austin, Texas, died April 17, 2007. Prior to retirement, he served as director of quality assurance for American Stores in Philadelphia. Following graduation, Dr. Nossov worked for the Department of Agriculture and the city of Detroit. He then served in the Army Veterinary Corps, retiring as a captain in 1945. Dr. Nossov went on to serve as general manager of Lincoln Packing Company in Lincoln, Neb. His wife, Adele, survives him. Dr. Nossov’s brother, Dr. Gabriel Nossov (KSU ’47), is a veterinarian in Austin.

Dr. Oyzon (PHI ’50), 86, Cerritos, Calif., died Jan. 30, 2007.

Lloyd J. Sanders

Dr. Sanders (OSU ’48), 83, Savannah, Ga., died July 11, 2007. From 1953 until retirement in 1979, he owned Dover Animal Hospital in Rockaway, N.J. Earlier in his career, Dr. Sanders practiced in Cleveland, Ohio, and Stelton, N.J. He was a past president of the New Jersey and Metropolitan New Jersey VMAs. Dr. Sanders’ wife, Joanne, and three daughters survive him. Memorials may be made to Hospice Savannah Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.

Louis A. Sordo

Dr. Sordo (AUB ’36), 92, Bethesda, Md., died May 2, 2007. He is survived by two daughters and a son.

Sidney Stern

Dr. Stern (MID ’43), 86, Stamford, Conn., died May 27, 2007. He established the Rippowam Animal Hospital in Stamford in 1963 and volunteered with the Connecticut Humane Society. An Army veteran, Dr. Stern served during World War II in the Philippines. After the war, he worked for the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration, helping to ship horses to Europe. Dr. Stern’s wife, Ruth; a son; and a daughter survive him.

John B. Woodworth

Dr. Woodworth (ISU ’39), 95, Waynesboro, Va., died July 27, 2007. Following graduation, he established a practice in Waynesboro. In 1956, Dr. Woodworth founded Waynesboro’s Woodworth Animal Hospital. He was a past president of the Virginia VMA. Dr. Woodworth’s two sons survive him. One son, Dr. Daniel M. Woodworth (ISU ’68), practices at Woodworth Animal Hospital.
