The National Institute for Animal Agriculture has appointed Michele Vise-Brown as chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1. She replaces Dr. Nevil Speer, who had acted as CEO since June 2006. Vise-Brown was the NIAA director of member relations and committee operations. Previously, she worked at Pig Improvement Company USA. She also has worked at the University of Kentucky and at Kentucky Dairy Records.

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry has appointed Dr. Henry Moreau (TEX '75) to succeed Dr. Maxwell Lea, who is retiring after almost two decades as state veterinarian. Dr. Moreau has served as a regional veterinarian with the Louisiana agriculture department for 27 years. He also has been president of the Avoyelles Parish Cattlemen's Association and the Atchafalaya Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Delaware Department of Agriculture has appointed Dr. Sara Busch (MSU '94) as state veterinarian. She succeeds Dr. H. Wesley Towers, who retired in 2005, and Dr. Robert Ricker, who was interim state veterinarian. Most recently, Dr. Busch has served as a professor of veterinary technology at Manor College in Pennsylvania. Previously, she practiced in several states on the East Coast and in the Midwest.
