The AVMA, Hill's Pet Nutrition, the American Veterinary Dental Society, the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry, and the American Veterinary Dental College are co-sponsoring the "Pets Need Dental Care, Too" campaign for the 12th consecutive year.

In mid-December 2005, Hill's began shipping free dental campaign kits to more than 20,000 veterinary hospitals around the country. Those that have not received a kit can request one (while supplies last) by calling (800) 892-4621. The kit contains a program guide with graphics and suggestions for promoting pet dental health, along with consumer brochures on the basics of good oral care for pets. Hill's territory managers have a supply of dental campaign window clings, buttons, and balloons available for hospitals, upon request.

Veterinarians are encouraged to use the campaign materials during National Pet Dental Health Month in February and throughout the year. For additional dental health information, visit www.petdental.com.
