Reminder: AVMA members may apply for 2006 dues waivers
|Posted Nov. 1, 2005|
AVMA members who endured financial hardship as a result of the damage caused by hurricanes Katrina and Rita are reminded that they may apply for a 2006 dues waiver. All veterinarians—including veterinary practice owners and associate veterinarians—who meet the requirements for the dues waiver are welcome to apply. Members who receive waivers will retain all the rights and privileges of their full AVMA membership.
Members must apply by March 1 for dues waivers for the 2006 membership year. For details on how to qualify for a waiver or to fill out an application, log on to www.avma.org/myavma/duesreduct.asp and click on "Application for Dues Exempt Status-Extenuating Circumstances" or phone (847) 925-8070, Ext. 6629.
In 1995, six members requested 1996 dues waivers because of the damage caused by Hurricane Marilyn, and in 1992, 39 members requested 1993 dues waivers because of the effects from hurricanes Andrew and Iniki.
