The Department of Agriculture has provided consumers with a list of recommendations for keeping food safe during and after a weather emergency. The USDA hopes the information will help minimize the potential for foodborne illnesses in the event of power outages and flooding. The recommendations are posted at www.fsis.usda.gov/Food_Security_&_Emergency_Preparedness/Keeping_Food_Safe_during_an_Emergency/index.asp.
