A new online education course for veterinary hospital support staff, "Client Satisfaction: the Other Half of Your Job," has been added to the VetMedTeam Web site curriculum. Led by an experienced veterinary technician instructor, the course includes a copy of the AVMA handbook of the same title for use during the two-week class and, afterward, as a hospital training resource.
Since 2002, the AVMA and VetMedTeam have worked together to create online education courses for veterinary hospital staff based on several of the AVMA customized training handbooks. The first course, "Telephone Courtesy & Client Service," was introduced 18 months ago. Students who have completed the course said they like the simple format, flexible scheduling, instructor's interaction, and immediate application of the material to their work in a veterinary hospital.
