Winn Feline Foundation calls for grant proposals

The Winn Feline Foundation, a nonprofit organization affiliated with The Cat Fanciers' Association Inc., is accepting applications for 2005 grants. The foundation supports research on medical problems affecting cats. This past year, the foundation awarded grants totaling $138,949 to researchers working on topics as varied as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, vaccine-site sarcoma, lymphoma in cats, mammary cancer, feline infectious peritonitis, feline genetics, liver disease, and pain control. Grant applications must be received by Dec. 6, 2004. The maximum grant amount is $15,000. Awards will be announced in March 2005.
