A decision to establish a panel on assessing and alleviating animal pain and distress has been postponed until the November Executive Board meeting.

As proposed by the Animal Welfare Committee, the panel would comprise 14 members with various backgrounds, including veterinary anesthesiology, animal behavior, laboratory animal medicine, and animal welfare ethics.
