 APHIS plans veterinary biologics meeting

The Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service will hold public meetings this spring to discuss regulatory and policy issues related to the manufacture, distribution, and use of veterinary biologic products. Meetings will be held at Iowa State University in Ames on March 31, April 1, and April 2.

The meetings provide an opportunity for the exchange of information between APHIS representatives, producers and users of veterinary biologic products, and other interested individuals.

APHIS is in the process of planning the agenda for the meeting and encourages individuals to submit suggestions for topics. Topics currently under consideration include emerging diseases, vaccine development, current activities at the Center for Veterinary Biologics, the 2002 Farm Bill, animal care, and international harmonization.

Suggested topics should include presenter names and presentation length. Submissions should be sent to Dr. Richard E.
