O'Donnell joins AVMA publications team as assistant editor

On Nov. 11, 2002, the AVMA Publications Division welcomed Dr. Denise O'Donnell to her new post as an assistant editor for the AVMA journals. She was selected for the position after a nationwide search. She brings to the position a stong background in research and laboratory animal medicine, and experience in small animal practice.

In 1991, Dr. O'Donnell received her DVM degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Most recently, she was a clinical veterinarian for laboratory animal services at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation in East Hanover, N.J.
Dr. O'Donnell also completed a comparative medicine residency at the University of Maryland at Baltimore, Department of Veterinary Resources, from 1993-1995. She also worked as the director of veterinary services at Summit Ridge Farms, an independent pet food testing facility in Susquehanna, Pa.
Her work has been published in the Journal of Applied Physiology, and she has been a secondary investigator on several other studies.
