Louisiana State University is accepting entries for its Sixteenth International Exhibition on Animals in Art. The exhibition will be held in the Veterinary Medicine Library and will feature art in all media—sculpture, paintings, photography. Libby Johnson, an artist and owner of Studio dei Leoni in Louisiana, will judge the entries. The winner will receive a $1,000 Best of Show award, and one entry will be selected to appear on the cover of JAVMA. The School of Veterinary Medicine and the Friends of the School of Veterinary Medicine are sponsoring the event.
Artists 18 years old or older are invited to submit 2-by-2 inch mounted 35mm slides of their original artwork. All works must include an animal, and any works that do not meet the spirit of the exhibit will not be accepted. Artists may submit up to three works. The maximum size for an entry is 60 inches by 60 inches by 48 inches.
A nonrefundable fee of $10 is required for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry. Checks or money orders should be made out to SVM Friends Art Show Account. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 24, 2003.
