For those who have yet to attend the AVMA Orientation Program for state and allied association executive directors, we wanted to remind you that there’s still time to register for this year’s event.The 1.5-day event is offered as a way to provide association directors a greater understanding and appreciation of the structure and operation of the AVMA. The program is fully funded by the AVMA and is held at AVMA headquarters in Schaumburg, Ill. The program is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 9, and Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013. It begins Monday morning and ends at noon on Tuesday. Participants will tour AVMA headquarters, hear brief presentations from each AVMA division, and visit informally with staff and your colleagues during meals and at a staff reception. Executive directors of state VMAs or allied VMAs represented in the House of Delegates who have not attended an orientation program previously are eligible to participate in the 2013 program. AVMA has a minimum requirement of five attendees (and a maximum of 10) to host this orientation program.If you are eligible, please reserve your spot now by contacting Communications Assistant Matt Zingale at email@example.com or 847-285-6617.
