DEA to Hold Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Sept. 25

On September 25, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will be holding its First-Ever Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. DEA plans to collect expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction at sites nationwide on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. Veterinarians can refer their clients to where collection sites in their specific geographic region can be located. Clients who are in areas of the country without easily accessible take-back sites can inquire with local law enforcement on disposal options for unwanted drugs.
