Veterinary Companies and Partners Respond to Hurricane Harvey

The following companies, vendors and other organizations serving the veterinary community are providing assistance to veterinarians and animal owners affected by Hurricane Harvey:

Henry ScheinThe Henry Schein Disaster Relief Hotline is open for veterinary and other Schein customers who experience operational, logistical, or financial issues due to storm damage. Call 800-999-9729, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time. Schein also has a disaster recovery guide to help affected businesses.

IDEXXIDEXX Laboratories customers in the areas affected by the storm should visit for updates on relief efforts, or call 1-800-248-2483 for assistance as needed.

ZoetisThrough direct interactions with customers, the Zoetis U.S. field force is reaching out to veterinarians and livestock producers to offer their support, and standing by to coordinate deliveries of much-needed animal health products. Please contact your local Zoetis representative for more information or assistance.

Royal CaninRoyal Canin is working with on-the-ground partner Rescue Bank to provide food for dogs and cats in need. Clinics, hospitals, or other Royal Canin customers/partners that need food should email Elizabeth at Rescue Bank. Please make sure to include your contact information and mention you are a partner/customer of Royal Canin. You will receive a confirmation of product and pick-up time, as well as the pick-up location information.  [Note: Product is best distributed in pallets which can easily fit into a large SUV or pick-up truck.]

BayerBayer Animal Health has made a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross, a $100,000 donation to Direct Relief and more than $25,000 in animal health product donations to NARSC/ASAR. Bayer also is assessing the impact on its customers (both companion animal veterinarians, and large animal veterinarians and producers) and is committed to addressing their needs to the best of its ability by coordinating shipment of animal health products. Veterinarians can reach out to their local Bayer representative for more information.

Merck Animal HealthMerck has donated to the American Veterinary Medical Foundation, American Red Cross, Hand in Hand Hurricane Relief Fund and Texas A&M University Veterinary Emergency Team. At the field level, in addition to donating products, Merck representatives and technical services colleagues continue to provide boots-on-the-ground support to aid the people and animals impacted by the storm.
