Terry Maple is Elizabeth S. Watts professor emeritus at the Georgia Institute of Technology, a research professor at Florida Atlantic University, and professor-in-residence at the San Francisco Zoo. He served as the CEO of Zoo Atlanta for 17 years during a dynamic period of revitalization and reform. Dr. Maple co-authored Zoo Animal Welfare (Springer 2013) and was co-editor of Ethics on the Ark (Smithsonian, 1995). He is the founding editor of the scientific journal Zoo Biology, a fellow of the American Psychological Association, and a former chair of the board of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. He earned his doctor of philosophy in psychobiology from the University of California at Davis.
