Paul LaPorte is the regional economist for the Chicago office of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Paul also directs the Bureau's Chicago office of Economic Analysis and Information (EA&I). Paul’s responsibilities with the Bureau include assisting BLS data users, preparing news releases, and conducting presentations covering the Bureau’s products and services. He has been with the Bureau since 1986. All of his 25 plus years with the Bureau have been with the EA&I unit. Paul holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois.
