This three-day summit will introduce and explore constructive public and private stakeholder partnerships among national and international relief and development organizations and the veterinary community to promote and enhance global food security. Hosted by the AVMA, the summit will:
Explore and define the role of animal source foods in enhancing global food security
Describe and define ways that improved animal health and well-being contribute to a more secure, sustainable, safe, and nutritious food supply
Identify and promote pathways to integrate veterinary expertise into current and future global food security programs
Who should attend?
This summit is of particular interest to those working on or interested in enhancing food security at the national and international levels, including but not limited to:
Representatives of nongovernmental, governmental, and intergovernmental organizations
Veterinarians and veterinary paraprofessionals
Representatives of organizations and industries that produce animal source foods for human consumption
Educational providers—particularly those focusing on skills and competencies related to food security
Practitioners and researchers (e.g., nutritionists, ecologists, phytosanitarists, infectious disease specialists) focusing on the value of animal source foods and/or enhancing food security

Cost: $300 – includes all sessions plus a Thursday networking reception, continental breakfast and lunch on both Friday and Saturday, and attendee dinner on Friday.
