Next Generation Researchers Act
(H.R. 3466/S. 2014)
This legislation would establish the Next Generation of Research Initiative within the Office of the Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The initiative would be responsible for coordinating all of NIH’s policies and programs aimed at promoting and providing opportunities for new researchers.
Status: Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.-2) introduced H.R. 3466 on Sept. 9, 2015, and it was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. On Sept. 11, 2015, the bill was referred to the Subcommittee on Health.
Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) introduced S. 2014 on Sept. 9. 2015, and it was referred to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
