Genetically Engineered Food Right-to-Know Act

(H.R. 913/S. 511)

This legislation amends the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act to require that genetically engineered food and foods that contain genetically engineered ingredients be labeled accordingly.
 
Status: Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.-4) introduced H.R. 913 on Feb. 12, 2015, and it was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) introduced S. 511 on Feb. 12, 2015, and it was referred to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
