The AVMA prioritizes some programs administered by the U.S. Departments of Agriculture (USDA) and Health and Human Services (HHS) as “active pursuit of passage” and other programs as “support" passage during the congressional appropriations process.

Status of fiscal 2016 appropriations: Congress passed the fiscal 2016 omnibus bill and it was signed into law on Dec. 18, 2015. The $1.15 trillion measure provides funding to every agency through Sept. 30, 2016.
