Ireland

Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital
Externships (scheduled on an individual basis) and Internships

Our internships provide mentored exposure to a large caseload, including over 100 foals per season, in the centre of the main Thoroughbred racing and breeding area in Ireland.

The internships are self-funding. The hospital will provide accommodation and pay for professional indemnity insurance, but the intern is responsible for their own living expenses (including electricity bills etc. at the accommodation) and registration with the Veterinary Council of Ireland.

Many of our previous interns have been able to secure funding from their own Governments or another source of sponsorship

All interns must register with the Veterinary Council of Ireland prior to starting at the hospital. Previous interns have been successful at obtaining residency positions at prestigious universities in the USA and Europe.
