We rely on email to notify members when they are eligible to vote in AVMA elections. Make sure you have an up-to-date email address in your member profile to ensure that we can reach you with voting instructions when there is an election for which you are eligible to vote.
The AVMA has implemented electronic voting for contested association elections, in order to ease, expedite and enhance members' voting experience. Beginning with the March 2016 election for the District I representative on the AVMA Board of Directors, the AVMA began using the services of an electronic voting company to allow members to cast ballots electronically, rather than by surface mail. When members vote electronically, the following process is followed:
Eligible members who do not have valid email addresses on file with the AVMA are mailed paper ballots, along with a return envelope, and must fill out and return the ballots manually. We encourage all members to check the contact information in their AVMA profile to ensure that the email address on file is a valid one.
