1 from the public (one of the current or past public members of the COE)1 from the AVMA Executive Board1 from the AVMA House of Delegates (HOD)1 from the Council on Education (COE)1 from the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC)
Each organization will nominate a representative. The AVMA Executive Board will consider and confirm the nominees of each organization, but it may reject a nominee for cause and request the nominating organization to nominate another member.
Members may serve a maximum of two 3-year terms and terms will be initially staggered. Terms will begin and end at the close of the AVMA annual session.
Staff Consultant: Director of the AVMA Education and Research Division
The Chair of the Committee is elected annually from and by the Committee membership.
The Committee will hold an initial meeting to discuss its operational process, and then meet annually to discuss and update its operational process and to determine the qualifications of candidates. Conference calls may be conducted as required.
AVMA pays travel expenses in accord with travel policy.
The Committee will be reviewed in compliance with AVMA governance policies.
