Welcome to the AVMA's Student Externship Locator! Look here to find an interesting position to build your knowledge within veterinary medicine and/or to meet your graduation requirements. This area allows you to view externships by state, special interest, or see what schools and organizations have to offer. If a state Veterinary Medical Association (VMA) does not have an externship program, the "Find a Vet" page has been included to enable you to search for a practice in a certain area and contact them directly to see if they offer externship positions. Some links show positions available only during certain times of the year so please take that into consideration when applying.
