• Ergonomics
Ergonomics Poster
Ergonomics – helping people and things interact efficiently and safely – is an issue sure to impact the veterinary profession. This colorful and descriptive poster was produced jointly by the AVMA and the AVMA PLIT to be used by practitioners in their clinics to address ergonomic issues. (The high resolution version can be taken to a local print shop if desired for quality printing.)

Six points to remember:
  • Ergonomics can help you in your practice
  • Some states already require employers to implement ergonomics programs
  • Work-related Musculo-skeletal Disorders (WMSDs) can happen in jobs with risk factors
  • Risk factors can be reduced and WMSDs prevented
  • Reporting symptoms early is important
  • You need to involve all staff members to successfully implement ergonomics changes
