2009 H1N1 Flu Virus Outbreak

Recent reports of a new "swine flu" virus among humans have been confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The virus is readily spread from person to person and, to date, there is no evidence supporting its transmission from pigs to people. However, preliminary evidence from Canada suggests it may be transferred from people to pigs. For more information, view the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s Frequently Asked Questions about the infection of pigs with the 2009 H1N1 flu virus. More »
