On behalf of the Board of the AVA and all AVA members throughout Australia, I wish to record our care and concern for the American people and in particular for all of our American friends and colleagues at this awful moment in history.
Our Prime Minister has been in Washington this week and has reaffirmed the very strong bonds between Australia and the USA, views which I also hold very strongly. Australians also believe democracy is worth standing up for and defending and have not forgotten Pearl Harbor and the threats to the USA and Australia at that time. This really forged the very close alliance between our countries, which has grown even stronger over the years.
Be assured that the Australian people's thoughts are with you now and in the future.
Robert Baker
AVA President
