2010 AVMA Convention Press Room
The 147th AVMA Annual Convention will be held July 31st- August 3, 2010 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. It is expected to attract more than 9,000 attendees, including global experts in veterinary medicine.
Both during and after the convention, the AVMA will be issuing press releases that will be available here and in our online press room.
On-site Media Center
All press releases are available to reporters in the Media Center, Room B311 at the Georgia World Congress Center. The on-site Media Center offers journalists materials, computers, telephone and fax access, interview areas, professional assistance plus food and refreshments. Please check in to register and pick up name tags and information.
Interviews
Interviews with AVMA members, officials, convention speakers and AVMA staff can be arranged through the AVMA Media Relations Department before the convention begins and at the convention Media Center. Contact a member of the Media Relations Department to make these arrangements.
Registration
Registration for general sessions, all meetings, events, educational programs and labs plus entrance to the exhibits is complimentary for members of the media who provide proper credentials. Invited media are eligible for AVMA discount housing, but you will be responsible for hotel reservations. Once your registration is complete you will receive a registration ID and instructions for booking your hotel. To request press registration, e-mail media relations assistant Michael San Filippo.
Hotels
The AVMA provides convention attendees with discount room rates at Atlanta hotels. Free shuttle service is available to and from hotels that are not within walking distance of the convention center. To be eligible for the AVMA block discount, you must book your hotel room through the Registration & Housing Bureau using your VIP registration ID.
