National Dog Bite Prevention Week coming in May

Don't worry, they won't biteThe AVMA Board of Governors has approved co-sponsorship of National Dog Bite Prevention Week, which the Humane Society of the United States has designated as May 20-26.

Most dog bites can be prevented through public education and responsible dog ownership. The AVMA has brochures, activity books, and bite prevention videos available for use during National Dog Bite Prevention Week.

In addition, statistics and a media kits are available through the AVMA Public Information Division, (847) 925-8070, ext 275, and on the AVMA Web site, www.avma.org/press/publichealth/dogbite/mediakit.asp.
