The accompanying pie chart depicts the age distribution of AVMA members as of Dec. 31, 2008.*
The largest proportion of AVMA members was ages 30 to 69. Seven percent of members were younger than 30, including 26 of them ages 22 to 24.
On the other end of the spectrum, fewer than 1 percent of members were 90 or older. Of those, 277 were ages 90 to 94, 37 were 95 to 99, and five were centenarians.
