EXECUTIVE BOARD COVERAGE
ECFVG accepts more English language examinations

The Executive Board approved the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates' recommendation to accept two additional English language examinations for step 2 of the ECFVG Program.

Up to now, the program has required non-native English-speaking candidates to achieve passing scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language, Test of Written English, and Test of Spoken English.

Recently, the ECFVG has received petitions from several candidates to accept passing scores on other English language examinations. The commission reviewed material on examinations in common use within Canada and the United States, and background from the Canadian National Examining Board.

Commission members concluded that two other examinations are each comparable to the TOEFL, TWE, and TSE, and it will accept them. The newly added examinations are the International English Language Testing System and the Canadian Academic English Language Assessment.
