AVMA volunteer leadership statistics graphs

An Aug. 31 analysis by the AVMA examined the gender and generational make-up of members serving on the Association's councils, committees, and similar entities. Volunteers ranged in age from their 20s to their 70s. Women held 40 percent of the 80 council positions. Women also made up almost a third of the 373 members who serve on the Association's committees, task forces, boards, and the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates or who serve as AVMA liaison representatives.
