The Food and Drug Administration Center for Veterinary Medicine is accepting applications for its 2008 Summer Intern Program.

The internships offer training opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The FDA-CVM conducts the program in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health, Minority Access to Research Careers Program, National Science Foundation, and Alliances for Minority Participation.

The goal of the program is to provide a foundation in regulatory research and review activities. Objectives include mentoring students in a research experience, broadening students' technical skills, offering information and guidance in the career exploration process, and heightening student awareness of careers at FDA and CVM.

The internships will employ students on a full-time basis for 10 weeks beginning June 2. Graduate and professional students will receive a $5,000 stipend. The deadline for applications is Feb. 8. Information and application forms are available at www.fda.gov/cvm/intern.htm.
