Microchip company donates to feline foundation

HomeAgain, a subsidiary of Schering-Plough Animal Health, has donated nearly $60,000 to the Winn Feline Foundation—$1 for each cat microchipped and enrolled in the HomeAgain Proactive Pet Recovery Network from June 1 through Aug. 31.

"Data show even indoor cats get out," said Dr. Susan Little, Winn's immediate past president. "Dogs generally wear some form of ID, but cats typically don't, which arguably makes microchips even more important for cats."

More than 6 million U.S. pets have been enrolled in the HomeAgain program. The Winn Feline Foundation promotes the health and welfare of cats through education and research.
