Diversity in science

Dr. Bernadine D. Cruz, a small animal practitioner from California, staffs a booth at the national conference of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science, Oct. 15-18 in Dallas. The mission of SACNAS is to foster the success of Hispanic/Chicano and Native American scientists and science students. Hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students attend the annual meeting. The AVMA and Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges co-sponsored the booth as part of cooperative outreach efforts initiated by the AVMA-AAVMC Joint Committee.
