Dr. Beusse (GA '58), 76, Lakemont, Ga., died Sept. 20, 2008. From 2004 until early 2008, he was a contract veterinarian with the Navy Marine Mammal Program in Kings Bay, Ga. Prior to that, Dr. Beusse served as a professor and director of marine mammal medicine at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Early in his career, he established Trail Animal Clinic in Orlando, Fla., practicing there for 23 years. He also served as a contract veterinarian for Sea World of Florida for 30 years.

Dr. Beusse was a past president of the Florida and Central Florida VMAs and a member of the International Association for Aquatic Animal Medicine and American Animal Hospital Association. He received several honors, including the FVMA Gold Star, Outstanding Veterinarian of the Year, and Distinguished Service awards in 1980, 1984, and 1991; the IAAAM Excellence in Aquatic Animal Medicine Award in 2000; and the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2003.

Dr. Beusse's wife, Carole; a son; and a daughter survive him.

Dr. Dill (OSU '65), 67, Cincinnati, died July 11, 2008. A small animal practitioner, he owned Cherry Grove Animal Hospital in Cincinnati prior to retirement. During his career, Dr. Dill also served as an Iditarod veterinarian for three years, volunteering his services prior to and during the race. He was a member of the Ohio and Cincinnati VMAs. Active in civic life, Dr. Dill was a member of the Anderson Township Chamber of Commerce and Board of Zoning Appeals. His wife, Joyce; two sons; and a daughter survive him. Dr. Garrison (COR '50), 90, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., died Oct. 9, 2008. He was the founder of Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital, a mixed animal practice in Burnt Hills, N.Y. Dr. Garrison also farmed and raised Belgian draft horses. He was a past president of the New York State VMS and a member of the American Animal Hospital Association and Capital District VMS. The NYSVMS awarded Dr. Garrison an Award of Merit in 1980 and a Distinguished Life Service Award in 2000.

Active in civic life, he was a founding member of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Rotary Club and served on the board of directors of the Charlton School for Girls. Dr. Garrison was also involved with the 4-H Club. His wife, Shirley, and three daughters survive him. One daughter, Dr. Laurel A. Harms (COR '78), is a veterinarian in La Quinta, Calif. Dr. Jocoy (CAL '54), 82, Del Mar, Calif., died Sept. 27, 2008. He served as veterinarian at the Del Mar Racetrack from 1983-1994. Earlier, Dr. Jocoy practiced at the Hollywood Park and Santa Anita racetracks for almost 30 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Dr. Jocoy's wife, Katie, and four children survive him.

Dr. Martin (CAL '66), 66, Solana Beach, Calif., died April 25, 2008. Prior to retirement in 1997, he co-owned All Creatures Hospital in Del Mar, Calif. Dr. Martin is survived by five children.

Dr. Randall (KSU '38), 92, Kinston, N.C., died Oct. 3, 2008. Vice president of the AVMA from 1983-1985, he owned Riverbank Animal Hospital in Kinston from 1954 until retirement in 2007. Following graduation, Dr. Randall worked for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture. From 1941-1945, he served in the Army Veterinary Corps, attaining the rank of lieutenant colonel. Dr. Randall then went into mixed animal practice in Kinston.

A past president of the North Carolina VMA, he was its delegate to the AVMA House of Delegates from 1969-1984, after serving as alternate delegate from 1965-1969. Dr. Randall served on the AVMA House Advisory Committee from 1977-1983, chairing it in 1982. He also served on what is now known as the AVMA Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities from 1977-1983. Dr. Randall was a two-term member of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Board, a past director of the American Association of Swine Practitioners, and past president of the Southern Veterinary Medical Federation.

He served on the advisory committee to the North Carolina State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for three 3-year terms. Dr. Randall also served on the planning committee for the NSCU School of Veterinary Medicine, and, later, on the school's foundation. He received several honors, including the North Carolina VMA's Distinguished Veterinarian Award in 1973, Veterinarian of the Year Award in 1974, and Martin Litwack Award in 1983; the American Animal Hospital Association Practitioner of the Year Award in 1980; and the AVMA Award in 1986. In June 2008, Dr. Randall was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest civilian honor granted by the state of North Carolina, for his service to the community and the state.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter. One son, Dr. Ray J. Randall (GA '72), a Kinston veterinarian, practiced with his father for more than 35 years. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Kinston, 2600 Rousse Road, Kinston, NC 28504.

Scott (TEX '09), 25, Sherman, Texas, died July 27, 2008. She was a member of the Texas A&M University student chapter of the AVMA. Scott served as president of the university's student chapters of the American Holistic VMA and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. She was also in charge of the orthopedic/rehabilitation room during the TAMU College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences' annual open house for the past two years.

Dr. Scott (ISU '38), 95, Carlsbad, Calif., died Oct. 5, 2008. Prior to retirement in 1978, he worked for Johnson & Johnson Company in Indiana and New Jersey. Following graduation, Dr. Scott worked in Wisconsin and Illinois in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry. In 1946, he moved to Sioux Falls, Wis., where he became the president and general manager of Sioux Falls Laboratories. Dr. Scott then joined Johnson & Johnson. He is survived by a son.
