Setting the standard on animal welfare
A diverse group of more than 450 scientists, politicians, and animal welfare advocates from 70 countries gathered in Paris this past February to contribute their insight and expertise to the International Office des Epizooties' effort to create international standards for animal welfare. [more]

 

USDA outreach program targets noncommercial-bird-owning public
The Department of Agriculture has launched a national awareness campaign to educate people who raise their own poultry or who own exotic birds about the signs of avian influenza and exotic Newcastle disease. [more]

 

USDA-FSIS harmonizes residue-testing procedures with FDA
