AVMA supports updated and expanded Brakke study, approves task force on housing of pregnant sows
The AVMA has provided a $200,000 grant to the National Commission on Veterinary Economic Issues for the creation of a series of analytic models designed to enhance the management of veterinary practices and the productivity of veterinarians and support staff. [more]

 

Listeria in ready-to-eat products shows measurable decline
The Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service has released data showing a one-year, 25 percent decrease in the percentage of Listeria monocytogenes-positive samples, and a 70 percent decline compared with years prior to the implementation of the hazard analysis and critical control point system. President signs bill assisting veterinary graduates with debt load
