Updated: May 24, 2010

On May 17, Intervet Schering-Plough sent a second letter to veterinarians, urging them to return all lots of PreveNile® West Nile Virus vaccine for horses. The letter stated "the recall is being conducted because Intervet has identified an increased incidence of adverse events related to currently marketed serials. Reported Adverse Events include acute anaphylaxis, systemic-type reactions, such as colic or respiratory distress and death following vaccination, alone and in conjunction with other products."
