2008 Biennial Report of the AVMAPAC - 110th Congress
Honor Roll of Contributors,
A Decade of Giving
As veterinarians, our future success depends on our ability to respond to the changing needs and expectations of the society we serve. Federal laws and regulations have a significant effect on our professional lives; the political, social, and economic environments in which we work; and our financial and professional success.
The AVMA accomplished much in the last two years, finishing the 110th Congress with more than 70 items on its Legislative Agenda. Significant progress was made on several key legislative initiatives. Without the AVMAPAC's assistance and direct lobbying from AVMA staff and members, these important issues might not have been successfully articulated to Members of Congress.
As the American Veterinary Medical Association Political Action Committee (AVMAPAC) concludes the 110th Congress, it is appropriate to recognize veterinarians and others who have supported AVMA legislative efforts by contributing to the AVMAPAC each year and, especially, this election cycle. Their dedication and generosity truly is AVMAPAC's greatest asset, and they have provided the backbone of our profession's influence in the federal political process.
