Description: Laparoscopic ovariectomy is rapidly becoming the state of the art method for sterilization of female dogs and cats. This course will begin with a short review the surgical technique and also consider the efficacy and the ethics of incorporating laparoscopic ovariectomy into practice versus the traditional open surgical spay. Each participant will then perform an ovariectomy on a dog that will be returned to the local animal shelter for adoption. Participants will perform the surgery
