The AVMA recognizes as a resource the Compendium of Veterinary Standard Precautions for Zoonotic Disease Prevention in Veterinary Personnel which includes the Model Infection Control Plan for Veterinary Practices as developed by the National Association of State Public Health Veterinarian (NASPHV) Veterinary Infection Control Committee (VICC).
