Public Health and Regulatory Veterinary Medicine Continuing Education
(CPHRVM-1979; HOD Resolution 8-1979; Reaffirmed CPHRVM & EX BD 11/04; revised 04/09)

Veterinary medicine is the only profession that routinely operates at the interface of human and animal health. Therefore state and local associations, colleges, and departments of veterinary science should include in their CE programs a representative offering of subjects on public health and regulatory veterinary medicine. These topics could include: emerging diseases, veterinary accreditation, food protection (security, training and defense), zoonoses, state regulatory requirements and practice acts.
