2009 AVMA Convention Opening Ceremony Controversy

The Opening Ceremony for the 2009 AVMA Convention will include a motivational presentation by the Pike Place Fish Market fishmongers. The presentation centers on teamwork and positive workplace attitudes, and includes a fish tossing demonstration. This elicited a strong reaction from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
