The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), seeks to attract the very best applicants to its world-class programs. We invite applications from qualified students intending to enter a new full-time graduate program (MSc, MVSc, or PhD) at the Atlantic Veterinary College between May 2012 and April 2013. Graduate Scholarship Award: This competition is open to Canadian and non-Canadian candidates holding a BSc, MSc, or DVM (or equivalent) degree. Each award provides up to $20,000 per year for each year of an MSc and MVSc program (up to 2 years) or a PhD program (up to 3 years). DVM Graduate Scholarship Award: This competition is open to Canadian and non-Canadian candidates holding a DVM (or equivalent) degree. Each award provides up to $32,000 per year for each year of an MSc and MVSc program (up to 2 years) or a PhD program (up to 3 years). Application instructions for both competitions are as follows: Candidates will be selected based on academic record, and potential as a researcher and/or clinician-scientist. Successful candidates will be required to satisfy the UPEI graduate admission criteria for an MSc, MVSc, or PhD program, which include identifying a faculty supervisor and a suitable program offered at AVC. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae, official transcripts of university grades from previous degrees and degrees in progress, and arrange for 3 letters of academic reference to be sent to the GS&R office at AVC. All documents must be sent in hard copy; electronic copies are not acceptable. Additional information and incomplete applications will not be considered. Eligible applicants who hold a DVM or equivalent degree will automatically be considered for both competitions, but need only apply to the DVM Graduate Scholarship Award competition. The deadline for both competitions is April 9, 2012.
